Race eight of the PCCCT season will see competitors take on a seven-kilometre out-and-back course from Coles Beach, Devonport.
The interesting track will provide a variety of surfaces – grass, gravel, asphalt and sawdust – which some members will relish. It will be reasonably flat, apart from a couple of small hills in the region of the Aquatic Centre
With only two chances left for a win this season, competition will be keen.
In her first year with the Club, Catherine Bell has impressed with her improvement over the season and she was running strongly into fourth last week at Burnie. With a little more improvement this week, she looks the one to beat.
Another first year runner, Narelle Jacobs, was second over a similar course last week making a big improvement from her previous race She won’t have to run much better to take this out
Hayden Bishop is a backmarker who has been showing excellent form and this slightly tougher course will suit him perfectly, while Jason Scott is another possibility from a backish mark.
Others with undeniable chances include Shaun Batten, Paul Pilkington, Brooke Fehlberg and Selina Crispin.
New runners are welcome and must register for membership and enter by 9pm Friday on the Club website.
The race will start at 9:30am while nominated time events will be held at 9:00.
